Install and Get Started with Software Node

The Software Node allows you to contribute more significant computing power to the MeshChain network by installing dedicated software on your computer. This method supports Windows, macOS, and Linux systems and provides greater control over the resources you share with the network, offering higher rewards compared to the browser extension.

Installation Guide

Step 1: Download the Software

1. Choose Your Operating System: The MeshChain Software Node is available for the following platforms: Windows, MacOS and Linux.

2. Download the Software: Visit the Download Page and select the version that matches your operating system.

Step 2: Install the Software

Windows

• Run the Installer: Double-click the downloaded .exe file to start the installation process.

• Follow the Installation Prompts: The installer will guide you through the necessary steps to install the MeshChain Software Node on your computer.

• Launch the Application: After installation, open the MeshChain Software Node from your desktop or start menu.

MacOS

• Open the .dmg File: Double-click the downloaded .dmg file.

• Drag the Application to Applications Folder: Drag the MeshChain Software Node icon to the Applications folder.

• Launch the Software: Open the MeshChain Software Node from the Applications folder and follow any security prompts from macOS to allow installation.

Linux (Debian-based)

1. Open a Terminal: Navigate to the directory where the .deb file was downloaded.

2. Install the Software: Run the following command to install:

sudo dpkg -i meshchain-node.deb

3. Launch the Application: After installation, launch the MeshChain Software Node from your applications menu or via terminal by typing:

sudo meshchain-node

Step 3: Create or Log In to Your MeshChain Account

1. Create an Account: If you don’t already have a MeshChain account, you will be prompted to create one after launching the Software Node. Simply follow the registration process.

2. Log In: If you already have an account, log in with your credentials to connect your node to the MeshChain network.

Step 4: Start Contributing and Earning

1. Automatic Resource Sharing: Once installed and logged in, the Software Node will automatically start contributing your computer's idle resources to the MeshChain network.

2. Monitor Performance: Use the application interface or the MeshChain User Portal to monitor your node's status, contribution levels, and earned MCP tokens in real time.

Step 5: Manage Your Software Node

1. Pause or Resume Contributions: You can pause resource sharing from the application interface at any time. Simply click the Power button, and the system will stop using your resources. Click Power to start contributing again.

2. Track Resource Usage: The application allows you to view how much of your system’s resources are being used for MeshChain tasks, ensuring that you’re in control of your contributions.

3. Withdraw Earnings: Log into the MeshChain User Portal to withdraw your earned MCP tokens or check your contribution history.

• Does the software slow down my computer? No, the Software Node only uses idle resources when they’re available, so it won’t interfere with your normal activities.
